Alex Heeren Continues to Collect Local Endorsements

Alex Heeren, Democratic candidate for Florida House District 66, has received three more endorsements in his race to fill Representative Larry Ahern's seat.

Heeren has recently been endorsed by Pinellas County Commissioner Charlie Justice and Pinellas County School Board Members Rene Flowers and Linda Lerner.

"I'm endorsing Alex Heeren because as a former State Representative and State Senator, I know what it takes to get things done in Tallahassee," said Commissioner Justice. "Alex has the knowledge about local issues and the strong work ethic necessary to make a difference. We can count on him to get results for Pinellas County."

“The Florida Legislature is in need of a representative who remembers why he was sent to Tallahassee. As an elected official representing public school education, I truly believe that Alex understands the need for impactful and empowered legislation - focused on launching our scholars beyond anything they could ever imagine," said Flowers. "As a former teacher, Alex understands that tests are meant to measure, not to punish, and that our teachers are deserving of a salary commensurate to the futures that they mold and shape on a daily basis. I know, without a doubt that Alex will fight for Public School Education.”

“I support Alex because he will stand up for our teachers and our support staff,” Lerner said. “For too long, the Legislature has expected educators to do more with less, and it’s time for that to end. We can count on Alex to fight to fully funding our public schools and raising wages for teachers that work so hard for our students.”

Heeren has also been endorsed by Pinellas County Commissioner Pat Gerard, Belleair Beach City Councilmember Wanda Schwerer, and Belleair Bluffs City Commissioners Joe Barkley and Jack Nazario.
